5 Steps Towards a Happier Day!!

Every morning when you wake up you have the capability to set the tone for the type of day you will be having. Why not try and make that day as smooth as possible? You can't control it all in life but why not take advantage of that which you can control. The simplest of things can really steer your entire day in a better direction. The following are some of the things that I feel have helped me get into a better mindset each morning.

1. Be Prepared!


Making your day better starts the day before. Each night give yourself 20-30 minutes to prepare. Whatever you can get done at ease before bed get it done and avoid rushing in the morning. Rushing things won't ever give you the best outcome.If you know you have to be up early for the gym , why give yourself enough time in the morning to convince yourself to stay in bed longer? No! Pack up at night and don't hesitate in the morning. Don't risk being late for work by trying to put together your outfit in the morning. Iron all your clothes the night before and hang them up so they're ready for you the minute you get out of the shower in the morning. Meal prepping? Make sure you have your lunch packed up and ready to go the night before. If you need a check-list to make sure your morning runs smoother then make one! Planning in advanced will make your day easy , it's almost like creating a cheat sheet for the first few hours of your day. So be prepared and diminish all the pressures that come with the morning.

2. Whatever you do , Don't hit SNOOZE!


The snooze button is the worst fr-enemy you could possibly have. (I could sure use my own advice on this one.) Hitting the snooze button has gotten me into problems! There's the time I overslept , because I accidentally hit stop instead of snooze, the other time I hit snooze one too many times and was therefore unprepared for the day because I had to rush my morning... who can relate ?!

Well these are just my personal reasons for why snoozing is losing, but if you won't listen to me listen to science. Scientist have proven that hitting the snooze button does in fact make you wake up feeling groggier than if you had just woke up on the initial first time your alarm rang. So next time time your alarm rings just give it a try, don't hit snooze just wake up and take on the day!

3. Breathe, Stretch, Shake, LET IT GO!


So you finally didn't hit snooze and decided to get up at the right time, what's next? This one is pretty self-explanatory. Simple: take a deep breathe, stretch out your muscles, shake off the tiredness, and LET GO of any and all negativity from yesterday as it is gone with the day.

You don't want to carry any of that energy with you onto the rest of this new day, therefore making this brief but very important step crucial. After all the biggest part of feeling better is having a steady mind. It's all in your head, so clear your mind of any negative and feed it healthy thoughts.

4. Drink WATER!!!!


We all know that water works wonders for your bodies. We also know each of our bodies require a certain amount of it per day. Therefore, it would be obvious that starting your morning with a tall glass of fresh water would make it all the better. It can be cold, room temperature or even hot.(hey whatever floats your boat.) I prefer a nice cold cup, it instantly refreshes me and makes me feel more awake. Also it kick-starts my metabolism and lets it know its time to work.

We may not be aware of it but during the 6-8 hours of sleep our body is deprived of water which again is important for the body. Therefore, although you may not feel it, your body wakes up dehydrated. Dehydration may lead to fatigue and we do not need that type of negativity in our day.

5.Seek & Spread Inspiration


Whether it may come from music, a book, a quote of the day or even from another person in general. Seek inspiration. Look for whatever might motivate you to do better. Take Five 5 minutes just for yourself to make you remember what the goal is and that you can too achieve it. If you must write little love notes to self, do so! You're AMAZING, you have potential and you can do this. All it takes is reminding yourself , your approval is the most important.

Once, you find inspiration , remember to become one as well, nothing will be more rewarding to you than knowing you too can inspire the next person to pursue the greatest version of themselves. Keep the positive chain going!
