It has officially been two years since I launched this platform. November 9th is not only my solar return, but it is also my blog's birthday. I wanted to launch my blog on my birthday as a sign of rebirth. I held back from launching this platform for so long based on solely fear. I look back now and I laugh, like, 'girl seriously?!' I gave fear WAY TOO MUCH power and it needed to stop. I needed to be re-born in that aspect of my life & my blog forever is a reminder of what comes once you stop letting fear control your life.
In the past two years, I've learned a lot. Most of what I have learned is about myself. Creating this blog has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone in many ways. I've slowly begun to do things the old me would be terrified to do. I do like to believe this version of me has always been within me, trapped by her own fears. Now that she is no longer allowing fear to control her, I feel that I am right where I am supposed to be. Two of the most important lessons I have learned are believing in yourself and the power of networking.
In this blogger world which many people consider to be, oversaturated, it is imperative that you be AUTHENTIC to you! Whatever that looks like. The weirdest or simplest qualities that make you, YOU, are the ones that mean the most and to be able to share those qualities you must believe in YOURSELF. You must truly believe that regardless of the number of people doing the same thing as you, you provide a certain VALUE. This power is a muscle that needs to be worked out to become stronger and this is another thing I am grateful to be exercising through my blog. I am able to be ME and rediscover the best parts of me all over again.
Believing in myself has also allowed me to push myself to network. Even at my shyest, I have been able to step out of my comfort zone by going to events alone, meeting new faces and connecting with other amazing people. I guess that pushing yourself does lead to great things because this year I was inspired so much from networking that I decided to create my very own event. I called it 'CHIC•NIC'. CHIC•NIC is a networking picnic for creatives and women in general, looking to connect and be empowered amongst one another. I am constantly amazed at the beauty and power that is in the room when women are genuinely laughing, loving and enjoying one another's company. I crave for that energy and it was the main reason why I chose to create CHIC•NIC. I look forward to making CHIC•NIC an annual event that allows for women to have a cute setting, to unwind, relax and connect with other empowering boss babes.
At this time I feel good, I don't regret starting this platform, not one bit. I look forward to what is to come and I am so grateful for the relationships I have been able to build from simply starting this platform. Thank you for all your continued support on everything. Your support is the most rarest form of fuel for me and it continues to keep me inspired. THANK YOU!
